The Coach House | 5 Bedrooms | 2.5 Bathrooms | Lakefront Country House

Stately country house with uninterrupted views of the lake. The quintessential country getaway, The Coach House makes for the perfect retreat from bustling city life. With 5 grand bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, this property can accommodate as many as 12 guests in the utmost comfort. Established in 1854, this residence has long occupied 1800 square metres of rich, green, lake frontage.

The interior of the home seamlessly blends contemporary design and heritage character. Rustic floorboards complement dark wood furniture, while crisp, white walls open up the space. Every room receives ample natural light and fresh country air. The first-floor lounge boasts two long, comfy couches and a fireplace to go along with the TV. A fantastic spot to escape the summer heat, or to get cosy on a winter’s night. The adjoining dining area seats up to 14 around a long wooden table.

There are two sitting/lounge room areas offering opportunities for groups to ‘break out’ and or individuals to enjoy some quiet time. The Grand balconies to both the front, overlooking the lake and across to Wombat Hill and the rear overlooking the lake and wooded reserve offer endless opportunities to entertain or just simply unwind.

The heart of the home, its large kitchen, possesses all the amenities, appliances and bench space needed to prepare those delicious meals. Two windows look out into the green countryside, creating a wonderfully open and fresh atmosphere.

The recently re-styled bedrooms, split between the first and second floors, epitomise style and comfort without forgetting the property’s history. A mixture of dark wood, white, glass and iron furnishings lend a varied sophistication to the rooms. Simple but elegant bedspreads and understated carpets contribute to the overall balance of these spaces. Split system temperature control will keep the house as warm or as cool as needed. The bathrooms are highly modern, with dark grey tile floors, sparkling white walls and walk-in showers.

The Coach House has its own private European garden overlooked by the rear balcony. The balcony itself features an outdoor setting with views of the countryside, ideal for an al fresco meal in summer and spring. Guests looking for a country retreat can do no better than The Coach House. A distinguished heritage property furnished with all the modern touches, overlooking the lake, surrounded by the natural splendour of country Victoria.

Nearby are some of the best eateries in the Daylesford area, including The Boathouse, Bookbarn, and Lakehouse. Merely step outside, stroll around the tranquil lake, go for a boat ride and soak in the beauty of country Victoria.

We had a girls weekend away.

5/5

We had a girls weekend away. The Coach House easily accommodated the 14 guests. We visited one of the day spas. It was an easy walk to the boathouse for lunch. Numerous restaurants for dinner within walking distance. We had breakfast on the verandah overlooking the lake it was so relaxing! The large couches were comfy as were the beds. There was air conditioning in every bedroom. Everything we needed was on hand. A wonderful weekend had by all. Would highly recommend staying here!

I booked the Coach House because my husbands 60th was at the Daylesford Cidery.

I booked the Coach House because my husbands 60th was at the Daylesford Cidery. Our friends were definitely impressed! The house was spacious, clean, warmth was not an issue, beds extremely comfortable. Would highly recommend this outstanding, historic building for a group gathering!

The Coachhouse is gorgeous.

5/5

The Coachhouse is gorgeous! Beautifully styled double bedrooms with great living spaces allows plenty of fun for groups and families but enough space to not be on top of one another and all still relax. Kids bunk room is perfect to throw them all in together while parents can still enjoy a luxurious bedroom. The balconies were an unexpected benefit. Essentially providing an extra two beautiful living spaces to hang out with gorgeous (and very different) views of Daylesford. Perfectly positioned for chasing sun or shade depending on your preference. Couldn't have been better. It very comfortably accommodated my parents, and my two siblings and families.
